Let’s get to it.

Good News

  • Walnut St. Bridge is set to begin a major remodel. It will officially be shut down on March 17, 2025. The project is a $35.3 million renovation.

  • The weather has finally warmed up. Last week, highs in the upper 70s nearly set a record for the warmest it’s been at the end of February.

  • CARTA Bus received three big grants for renovations and improvements to public transportation in Chattanooga. Did you know they manage the Incline Railway?

  • UTC Men’s Basketball is on a 10-game winning streak/ SOCON CHAMPS

  • Collegedale Happy Hookers is a group of men and women who gather every Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm, at the Collegedale Municipal Building by Little Debbie Park, to crochet or knit. Many of us make hats, and blankets for babies (preemies mostly) for the local hospital. They would love to attract more folks who want to learn to crochet or knit! It’s an art form that many young folks don’t do and we want to revitalize! Check out the Facebook page here.

  • The Aquarium is about to start the penguin nesting season. Early April marks the official start, kicking off on April 3 with the annual "Rock Day" event. During this event, animal care specialists will deliver hundreds of pounds of stones for Gentoo and Macaroni Penguins to build their nests. Unlike many birds that use twigs or feathers, these species nest on the rocky shores of Antarctica and rely on stones as their primary building material. When nesting begins, penguin pairs carefully select stones to construct their nests. Within a month or two, new penguin chicks may join the colony!

  • City Cafe: The downtown Chattanooga location has reopened at 511 Broad Street, offering its extensive menu and signature desserts 24/7. (citycafediner.com)

  • Urban Story Ventures: These folks are working with the city of East Ridge on a Major 160k sq ft shopping plaza where the old Food City was located. Check them out on the Urban Story Ventures website.

Restaurant of the Week

Tremont Tavern- located at 1203 Hixson Pk. Chattanooga TN 37405

Check out the website here: Tremont Tavern

This place is a Chattanooga staple. We have been here multiple times. It has a super chill vibe and some of the best food around. I recently got the Tremont Burger. They have wings, salads, and a nice selection of different burgers to choose from. Here is the link to the menu
